LEESBURG — The Leesburg Little Free Library is now up and available for use by Leesburg residents. On Saturday, May 12, the LFL box was set up in Clover Park and filled with books.

Leesburg resident Carol Noll attended a town council meeting in November 2017 and requested permission from council members to start a Little Free Library in Leesburg.

The LFL is a box mounted on a post and stocked with books. The idea is that people can take a book and either return that same book or replace it with another book. There are currently over 60,000 Little Free Libraries in over 80 countries.

Noll, a member of Friends of the Library, said she is excited about having a LFL in Leesburg, as she feels that Leesburg is an underserved area.

“I came up with the idea because my mom liked to read  and she also liked to help people so I thought this would be a way to do both,” said Noll, who will maintain the LFL.

According to Noll, the LFL will have everything from children’s books to classics and best sellers.
