SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko Community School Corporation has announced its top two graduates for the 2017-2018 school year.

Maren Theann Lehman and Angelica Marie Moyer were named valedictorian and salutatorian respectively at Whitko High School. Whitko’s graduation is planned for June 8.

Lehman, the daughter of Craig and Angela Swanson and Catherine Lehman, is a South Whitley native and plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and pursue a double major in philanthropy and business management. Her ambition is to become an executive director of a community foundation so she may one day give back to her community in the way her community has given to her.

Her activities include Philanthropic Ideas, Strategies, and Heart, Helping Achieve New Directions though Students, National Honor Society, South Whitley Main Street Committee, Broad Based Planning Committee, Campus Life, Leadership, Whitley County, Whitko Summer Lunch Program and cheerleading.

Moyer is the daughter of Chris and Faith Moyer and hails from Larwill.

She plans to attend Huntington University to study ­­­­­­­­­­­­­youth ministry and social work. Her activities include chamber ensemble, cross country, FCCLA, National Honor Society, Youth For Christ and her church’s youth group.
