Larry Dixon ‘Dick’ Conover

Larry Dixon “Dick” Conover, 81, Warsaw, passed away in his residence at 7:37 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018.

He was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Akron, Ohio to Lawrence Gilbert Conover and Daisy Thelma (Dixon) Conover. On Aug. 17, 1957, he was married to Betty Ann (Jones) Conover, who survives.

He enlisted into the U.S. Navy on Feb. 9, 1956. He proudly served as a Radioman Third Class until his honorable discharge on Jan. 20, 1959. He worked at Goodyear Aerospace in Akron, Ohio as a Programmer Analyst and retired after 38 years with them. He enjoyed volunteering his time with Kosciusko County Jail Ministry, and for Encompass World Partners for 17 years as an Archive Specialist. He was a longtime member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Winona Lake. He was known for his sense of humor and corny jokes. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Betty Ann Conover, Warsaw; two daughters: Terry (Gary) Herbruck, Winona Lake; Tammie (Jim) Robinson, Winona Lake; and his son: Larry (Carmen) Conover, Lansing, Mich. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Tara (Clint), Phil, Kayley, Catrice and Clay; plus his grafted family members Marla, Michele, Andy, Kayden and Dani. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his granddaughter, Kandice and great grandson, Keegan, who were waiting for him when he finally came home.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, April 26, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake.

His funeral service will be conducted immediately following viewing at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April, 26, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake and officiated by Pastor Jay Bell.

Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with full military rites conducted by local members of the American Legion Post 49, V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw and active duty members of the Navy Honor Guard.  Arrangements are entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
