Karl H. Hartisch Jr., Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 5 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Marion Veteran’s Administration Hospital.

On July 11, 1947, Karl H. Hartisch Jr. was born in Peru. He was a treasured son of Karl H. and Pauline Beasey Hartisch Sr. Growing up he shared his childhood with a brother Charles and two sisters Nancy and Carol. He graduated from Peru High School in 1966.

In Logansport, on Dec. 23, 1966, Karl Hartisch married the love of his life and his best friend Jacqueline “Jackie” Sheets. Together they share over 51 years of life’s adventures. From their union came three wonderful children: Rebecca, Paula and Karl III. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jackie, at home; two daughters: Rebecca and John Owen, LaFontaine; Paula and Russell Weber, Silver Lake; seven grandchildren: Brooke and Chad Trosper, Elizabeth and Chase Willoughby, Kassidy Carter, Allyssa Weber, Taylor Weber, Paine Owen and Zoe Hartisch; three great-granddaughters: Lillee Trosper, Addilee Trosper and Rylee Carter; two sisters: Nancy and Steve Cobb of California, and Carol and Mark Pier, Peru. Preceding him in death are his parents Karl and Pauline Hartisch Sr., a son Karl H. Hartisch III, and a brother, Charles Hartisch.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Karl H. Hartisch will be Wednesday, May 2, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Pastor Terry Baldwin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday. A private family graveside service will be held at the Marion National Cemetery, Marion.
