
WARSAW – Warsaw Community High School distance standout Xavier Francisco Ramirez has selected Valparaiso for his “coursework” after high school, looking to run both Cross Country and Track for the Crusaders.
Ramirez is a three-time Cross Country letterman who is looking for his fourth letter on the track helped the Tigers capture multiple Northern Lakes Conference crowns and sectional and regional titles. An All-NLC selection in both cross country and track, Ramirez looks to close this season strong and help the Tigers’ distance crew claim additional hardware.
While Ramirez has navigated the courses and track at the front of the pack, he has also been a leader in the classroom where he has earned Scholar Athlete recognition. Ramirez plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
Ramirez has also been a strong influence in the community, assisting with the middle school program and he plans to work with the Agitas soccer camp this summer.
Intending to major in Biomedical Engineering, Ramirez will look to make an impact on the Valpo programs working with Cross Country Coach Mike Straubel and Track & Field Coach Ryan Moore. Valparaiso is a member of the NCAA and the Missouri Valley Conference.
