SOUTH WHITLEY — Tippecanoe Valley’s girls track team won both legs of a Three Rivers Conference triangular meet with Whitko and North Miami Tuesday, while the boys split the TRC three-way at Whitko.

The Lady Vikings collected 64 points ahead of host Whitko’s 48 and North Miami’s 37. Hannah Gibbons won the shot put with a winning put of 30 feet, and Cora Alber won the discus with an 81’8” toss ahead of Gibbons’ second-place, 80’6” throw. Caleigh Byrer won the 100 hurdles in 20.34, and teammate Gabby Olson placed second in the race with a 21.22 stop. Olson won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 1:04, Valeria Jimenez broke tape in the 400 with a 1:08, and Valley’s girls won both the 4×100 and 1600-meter relay with times of 55.88 and 4:45.

On the boys’ side, Jameson Baker claimed wins in both throwing events, with a winning put of 45’9.5” in the shot and winning toss of 137’10” in the discus. Will Hassenplug finished second in the shot with a 43’7.5” put, while Justin Peconga cleared 5’8” to win the high jump, and Jon Humes registered 17’9.5” for second place in the long jump. Dakota Parker clocked 53.01 to win the 400-meter dash, more than three seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Whitko topped the team field with 92 points, while Valley scored 44 ahead of North Miami’s 26.
