KOSCIUSKO — A Rochester woman was arrested after injecting heroin and having a drug overdose.

Danay Elayne Bowyer, 24, 2165 Heritage Drive, Rochester, is being charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony.

On Jan. 10, officers responded to a report of a drug overdose at a residence.

Police found Bowyer laying on the floor, gasping for breath. Officers administered Naloxone and Bowyer regained consciousness. She was then transported to a hospital for treatment.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers found a silver spoon with a substance on top of it, a clear cellophane package, cotton swab and a piece of aluminum foil laying on the floor next to Bowyer.

All of the items tested positive for heroin.

A female at the residence provided Bowyer with the heroin and a hypodermic syringe that was used to inject the heroin.

Bowyer was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on March 26, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
