Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

6:52 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, South CR 275E, north of East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: David L. Jackson, 57, South CR 600W, Silver Lake. Jackson told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on CR 275E when approximately five deer ran into the path of his vehicle. Jackson said he was unable to avoid all the deer and that his vehicle struck one of the animals. Damage up to $2,500.

3:05 p.m. Friday, March 23, South Logan Street and Rozella Road, Warsaw. Drivers: John G. McGuire, 17, East Lake Tahoe Trail, Warsaw, Michaela R. Buriff, 16, East Pink Magnolia Drive, Winona Lake. McGuire told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on Logan Street in the turn lane to go east on Rozella Road when he rear-ended Buriff’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

North Webster

Officers from the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:

4:02 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, North SR 13, north of East Washington Street, North Webster. Drivers: Stanley H. Brady, 62, North Shore Drive, Rome City, Shari J. Upchurch, 51, East Goodison Road, North Webster, Julia A. Shepherd-Gibbons, 55, EMS B20B Lane, Pierceton. Brady told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 and observed construction ahead. He said Upchurch’s vehicle was stopped in front of him, but that he was unable to stop his vehicle before it collided with Upchurch’s vehicle and pushed that vehicle into Shepherd-Gibbons’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

8:18 p.m. Wednesday, East Pope Street, west of South McClellan Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Altuzar Vazquez, 27, Stitt Street, Wabash, Jeremy M. Morris, 39, North Oak Street, Columbia City. Morris told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on East Pope Street and was in the area west of South McClellan Street at the railroad tracks. He said Vazquez’s vehicle did not negotiate the curve but continued straight and crossed the center line into Morris’s lane. Morris said he drove his vehicle up on the sidewalk to avoid a collision but that Vazquez’s vehicle still collided with his. Vazquez did not speak English and did not possess a driver’s license. He was cited for not having a driver’s license. Damage up to $2,500.

4:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, US 30, north of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Matthew S. Decker, 33, East Oak Street, Dalton, Wisc., Jennifer R. Decker, 31, East Oak Street, Dalton, Wisc., George A. Bullock, 81, EMS B37 Lane, Warsaw. Matthew Decker told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on US 30 approaching the light at Parker Street. He said traffic stopped in front of him and his brakes failed, causing his vehicle to collide with Jennifer Decker’s vehicle. That collision, according to Jennifer Decker, caused her vehicle to lurch forward and collide with the rear end of Bullock’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

3:08 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, SR 15, north of East Jefferson Street. Drivers: Bryan G. Cerda, 17, East CR 200N, Warsaw, and Caleb T. Beam, 17, Peach Tree Lane, Winona Lake. Cerda was traveling north on SR 15 when Beam’s vehicle stopped quickly due to a red light. A rear-end collision occurred. Damage up to $2,500.

1:51 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Junior J. Green, 87, East Old Road 30, Warsaw, Evan Congleton, 28, Clemmer Road, Hicksville, Ohio. Congleton told police he had stopped his vehicle at the red light at the intersection of Commerce Drive and US 30 on the south side of the intersection. He said he was in the left turn lane on Commerce Driver to travel west on US 30. Congleton said that as the light turned green, he proceeded to drive his vehicle into the intersection to make his left turn, but while making the turn, he saw Green’s vehicle turning right onto US 30 from the north side of the intersection. He said after making the turn into the left travel lane, Green’s vehicle also made the turn and crossed over the right travel lane directly into the left travel lane, causing the collision. Green told police his vehicle was stopped at the intersection and when he attempted a right hand turn, the other vehicle came out of nowhere and collided with his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
