
MARION – Wawasee had several quality showings at the Hoosier State Qualifier at Indiana Wesleyan this weekend.
A trio of Warrior participants finished within the top three of their events. Hannah-Marie Lamle was third in the long jump at 16-3, and Elisha Tipping was also third in the field, throwing the shot put 44-2.25.
The 4×800 relay team of Luke Griner, Thomas Conley, Clay Kelsheimer and Michael Hammer were also third, running a combined time of 8:51.70.
Lamle also finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles at 10.31 and Wawasee’s girls 4×800 relay team was seventh, with Kenzie Smith, Caitlin Wortinger, Valeria Pizana and Elle Beezley going 11:20.22.
The Wawasee 4×400 boys team was sixth at 3:49.12 and girls team was seventh at 4:34.17 and Eric Yankosky was eighth in pole vault at 10-6.
Wawasee is scheduled to enter its first outdoor meet Tuesday when it travels to East Noble. The weather pending meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
