Branden Michael Collins, 32, 1762 West CR 700N, Leesburg, is being charged with theft with a prior, a level 6 felony.

On March 2, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a theft at Precision Grinding, Warsaw. Upon arrival, the officer viewed surveillance video of an employee, Collins, stealing an angle grinder. Collins is seen on video walking out of the building and placing the grinder inside his vehicle.

The officer spoke with Collins who admitted to stealing the grinder and a soldering gun from his workplace. Collins did not have permission or consent to take the items. Collins retrieved the soldering gun from his vehicle and gave it to the officer. Collins then took the officer to his residence where he gave the officer the grinder.

Collins was previously convicted of theft in Kosciusko County Superior Court 3 in June 2015.
