WARSAW — Despite the cold temperature, the sun was shining for Warsaw’s First Friday event held last night, March 2. This month’s theme was Dessert Dash, with most of the money raised benefiting local nonprofit Raise The Dough.

Local business participants provided a sweet mini dessert or snack for participants. Downtown Dessert Dash participants included The Lab, Reinholt’s Town Square Furniture, Buffalo Street Emporium, The Gallery, Bathhouse Records, Male Fashions, 110 Craft Meatery, Latte Lounge and Mad Anthony’s.

To throw a little more fun into the mix, there was also a crossword puzzle for participants to fill out. The crossword puzzle clues were themed around local businesses of Warsaw. Participants who completed the crossword puzzle were entered into a drawing for a chance to win prizes like a Male Fashions or Latte Lounge gift card.

Most of the proceeds will go to help support the local-nonprofit Raise the Dough to raise money for families who are wanting to adopt.

Grace College students Kayla Balisteri, Kendra Kookier, Elizabeth Tully, and Katelyn Smith held this event for their Event Management class. According to Kookier, “It has been a blast putting this event together and then being able to see it all unfold. Our whole team is excited to execute this month’s event since it has never been done before.”
