Phyllis Elaine (Carter) Adams, 84, Argos, died at 1:39 a.m., Feb. 20, 2018, at her residence following a short illness.

She was born on March 15, 1933, in Culver to Ernest W. Carter and Goldie L. (Good) Carter and had lived all of her life in Marshall County.

On July 6, 1952, in Culver she married Harold L. Adams who preceded her on April 15, 2005. She was a former member of Jordan Baptist Church, Argos where she had served as a deaconess.

Mrs. Adams was a graduate of Culver High School with the class of 1952. She was a avid reader enjoying newspapers and books. She especially enjoyed Richard Paul Evans novels. She wrote poetry, painter of many pictures, and loved a good crossword puzzle. She loved watching the Cubs and cheering them on. She was always ready for a trip to KFC or the Streamliner Restaurant.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her daughters, Debra Kilmer and husband Ray, Monticello; and Rhonda Rogers, Argos;
6 grandchildren five great grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Shirley L. Carter, Ernest L. Carter, Marion C. Carter, and Donald L. Carter

Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, with Rev. Mark Fishburn. Burial will follow at the Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver.
