Charles F. ‘Sonny’ Green

Charles F. “Sonny” Green, 86, Warsaw, passed away at 6:35 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, in his residence. He was born on April 25, 1931, in Newcastle Township, Fulton County, to Charles E. and Fredia (Yeazel) Green.

On June 27, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jennie (Hall) Green in Roann. He proudly served our country in The United States Air Force from Feb. 6, 1951, to Dec. 11, 1953. His company was the third Motor Transport Squad, which he served with in England. He was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church and also the American Legion Post #49. In addition, he was an avid sports fan; he was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed IU Basketball as well. He was very interested in micro mini car shows and was the proud owner of one. He loved to travel especially to Florida and Alaska. More than anything he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Green, Warsaw; sons: Andy (companion Angie) Green, Warsaw; Paul (spouse Mary) Green, Warsaw; Mark (spouse Sandra) Green, Warsaw; daughter: Julia (spouse Brad) Bevington, Westfield; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Kale.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.  A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.  Pastor Mike Hontz will officiate the Funeral Service. Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
