Packerton — A passenger was injured after when the vehicle they were traveling in slid off the road and hit an embankment early Sunday morning. Feb. 18.

The accident occurred just after midnight on South Packerton Road, north of East CR 800S, Packerton.

Andy J. Kindig, 53, Claypool, was traveling southbound on Packerton Road, when due to ice on the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle. The Ford Ranger went into a ditch and hit an embankment. Kindig told police that there was nothing he could have done to avoid the accident.

The passenger in the vehicle, Roy D. Kindig, Claypool, suffered pain to his upper arm and was transported for treatment.

Damages were estimated at up to $2,500.
