Update: Warsaw Firefighters Find No Gas Leaks

WARSAW — Firefighters from the Warsaw Fire Department were called out to multiple locations Saturday morning to investigate possible gas leaks. According to a firefighters with the WFD Station 1, no leaks were found. The initial call came at approximately 8:05 a.m. Saturday, sending units to the area of 1226 E. Market Street in Warsaw. Fire crews were also called to the area of the Rise’n Roll Bakery on Walton Boulevard in northern Warsaw as well as to the Sheriff’s Department headquarters on Main Street.

According to firefighter Derek Shilling with Station 1, no gas leaks were detected. Officials said over the radio that the smell which could be detected in multiple locations in Warsaw could be sewer gas and Shilling said they weren’t ruling out an area farmer spreading manure on a field.
