
Macks S. Swick, 71, Warsaw, and formerly of rural Claypool passed a t9:48 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.
He was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Kosciusko County to Claude E. and Fern E. (Warren) Swick.
He remarried on Dec. 9, 2003, in Warsaw to Donna McCord, she survives.
He was a farmer and had also worked for Akron Concrete Products, Pike Lumber Company, and was a scrapper. He had many jobs over his lifetime, but training horses was his favorite.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Macks for many years had been very involved with 4-H where he served as a leader. During his time as a leader he enjoyed working with poultry and goats.
He is survived by his wife; daughters: Amy (Rodney) Keirn, Claypool; Nicki (Ryan) Crawford, South Whitley; Bridget Swick (companion Mark Neeley), Warsaw; step-son: Nicholas Shepherd, Warsaw; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sisters: Arlene Miller, Pierceton; Marilyn (James) Collins, Rochester; brothers: Frank (Judy) Swick, Mentone; Ronnie (Carolyn) Swick, Claypool; David (Tammy) Swick, Mentone; Mark (Valerie) Swick, St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.
He was preceded by his parents; sisters: Nancy Kuhn and Phyllis Swick; a brother Eldon Swick.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 9, also at the funeral home. Pastor Thomas Craig will officiate and burial will take place at Akron Cemetery.
