Marjorie Edith Amiss, 75, passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 in her Warsaw home.

She was born in Warsaw to Earl Foy and Edith Viola (Smith) Banghart. She was a 1960 graduate of Warsaw High School and spent much of her lifetime in the Warsaw area.

On June 6, 1993, she was married to the late Mack “Jake” Amiss in Warsaw. He preceded her in passing on April 6, 2017.

She had worked at DaLite Screen, first in shipping and later as an outside processor. She enjoyed spontaneous road trips with her husband and was a member of Collamer First Church of God. She was also a member and twice past president of American Legion Auxiliary, Post 49. She spent 68 years as a continuous member of the American Legion and enjoyed traveling to the post in Laketon and to the Boy Scout Hall there.

Those who survive include four sons: Ted Harrell, Warsaw; Shannon (Rebecca) Amiss, Claypool; Jeff Amiss, Carmel; and Michael (Suzanne) Amiss, Carmel; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Sandra (Bob) Denton, Warsaw. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family. 

In addition to her husband of 23 years, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Banghart and a niece, Kathy Alderfer.

The family will receive friends at Titus Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8. A funeral service will take place Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home with burial in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
