
SYRACUSE – In the final home appearance for the Wawasee boys swim team, it made a grand exit.
The Warriors won 11 of 12 events in a near total whitewash of East Noble, 141-39, Tuesday night at the Wawasee Natatorium.
Brady Robinson, Brett Willaman and Jared Krugman all won two events, Robinson and Willaman in their final swims at their home pool. Robinson won the back (58.35) and breast (1:04.18) while Willaman took the 200 free (1:58.24) and a lifetime best in the 500 free (5:11.59). Krugman, just a junior, took care of the individual medley (2:12.27) and 100 free (51.93).
Austin Dunithan, also in his last home meet, set a lifetime mark in diving with a finish of 231.15 and Spencer Naugler grabbed a win in the fly (59.80).
Wawasee was also victorious in all three relays, the medley (1:54.13), the 200 (1:41.24) and the 400 (3:47.50).
East Noble’s lone win came in the 50, where Griffin Daffron-Koebler took the shootout at 23.95.
Wawasee had a dozen lifetime bests in all Tuesday, with Jake Cowan, Alex Troutman and Josh Metcalf all achieving a pair of milestones.
Wawasee closes out its regular season 6-2 overall after it’s third-place conclusion in the Northern Lakes Conference Championships over the weekend. The boys will be off until Feb. 18 when they will compete at the Concord Sectional.
