Janet D. Simpson, 73, Silver Lake, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, in her residence.

She was born March 12, 1944 in Athens, to Jacob & Alice (Bacon) Overlander. On June 24, 1962 she married David L. Simpson. He passed away May 5, 2014.

SImpson was a homemaker and served Silver Lake for 16 years as an EMT. She loved birds, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by sons, Gary (Susan) Simpson, Warsaw, and Kenny D. (Denise) Simpson, Warsaw; daughters, Teresa L. Simpson, Disko, Debbi S. Fields, Akron, and Wendy K. Simpson, Silver Lake; brother, Donald Overlander, North Manchester; sister, Pat Zeyen, Rochester,; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Family  and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 West, North Manchester. There will be no service.
