WCS Announces Vex Robotics State Qualifier Results

The three-team alliance between Wawasee High School and Portage High School took the tournament championship and these teams are now qualified for the state tournament held in March.

WARSAW — On Saturday, Jan. 20, the engineering/technology departments of Edgewood Middle School, Lakeview Middle School and Warsaw Area Career Center hosted Warsaw’s Vex Robotics State Qualifier at the Warsaw Area Career Center gym.

A total of 47 teams competed in the competition. The teams participated in qualifying matches from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then in final matches from 2  to 5 p.m.

Tournament Champions went to a three-team alliance with two of Wawasee High School’s (574C & 574F) robotic teams winning with a Portage High School robotic team (2567A). Those teams now qualify for the state tournament held in March.

The Design Award went to 574K Wawasee robotics team. The Team Excellence Award went to 2567W Portage High School. Robot Skills Award was earned by 2567X Portage High School team.
