
Everett Thornsbury, 77, Warsaw, passed away at 5:01 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in his residence. He was born May 17, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Morris and Mary (Garrett) Thornsbury.
On Sept. 10, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carol Sue Stanley in Warsaw. He worked at Hoosier Water Company for 32 years. He was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post #1126, and the Son’s of the American Legion post #49. Throughout his life he loved his family dearly. In addition, he loved music, hunting, gardening, fast-pitch softball, horse shoes, euchre, shuffle board, turkey shoot and his dogs Gismo and Festus.
He is survived by his wife: Carol Thornsbury, Warsaw; son: Greg Thornsbury, Warsaw; brother: Gary (spouse Ellen) Thornsbury, Warsaw; sister: Hester Layne of Elizabethon, Tenn. He was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and his parents.
Visitation is scheduled from noon-1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 1 p.m. Pastor Glen Hughes will officiate the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
