Francis L. Schutz, 85, Bremen, passed away at 5:45 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, in Signature Health Care of Bremen.

Francis was born Dec. 2, 1932, the son of the late John and Florence (Zieger) Schutz. On July 5, 1958, he married Mary Kamp.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Susan Roark, Bremen; and son, Steve Schutz, Osceola; one loving granddaughter, Heather Cleveland, who strived her very best to help him during the last months of his life; and one very special great grandson, Dylan Cleveland.

He was the best husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather anyone could have asked for.

He is also survived by one brother, Bernie (Joyce) Schutz, Lakeville; and two sister-in-law’s, Marge and Joan Schutz, both of Bremen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rose Marie Detweiler and brothers, John Schutz, Jr. and Lawrence Schutz.

Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954.

There will be no viewing or services per Francis request. Burial will take place in the Bremen Cemetery.
