
Leota E. May, 81, Winona Lake, passed away at 5:18 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in her home at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake.
May was born on July 6, 1936, in Warsaw to W. Russell Harman and Ruby (Stookey) Harman. She was a 1954 graduate of Warsaw High School and went on to attend Elkhart University.
She spent most of her lifetime in the Warsaw area and worked at Murphy Medical Center as a lab technician. She also worked for Serenade Foods for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1998.
She liked to play cards and games, especially euchre, BINGO, and trivia games. She enjoyed music and liked playing the piano. She was competitive and very social, never knowing a stranger. She had been a faithful member of Pleasant View Bible Church.
Those left with memories to cherish include her daughter, Rebecca Sue May, Rochester; two brothers: Lee (Sue) Harman and Lavon (Barbara) Harman, all of Warsaw; seven nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, W. Russell Harman, Oct. 25, 1987, and mother, Ruby Harman, April 3, 2000.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation and sharing of memories from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will take place at 4 p.m. and will be officiated by Chaplain Bryan Benjamin of Grace Village Retirement Community.
