WARSAW -The battle for bragging rights in the Lake City went to Edgewood Thursday night.

The Edgewood Middle School boys basketball teams picked up a pair of close wins over Lakeview Middle School.

Edgewood took the 8th grade contest by a 30-29 final. Jackson Dawson scored 13 points to pace the winners, who had eight players score in the contest. Edgewood improves to 9-1 on the season.

Kyle Dawson led Lakeview with 10 points and six rebounds.

Edgewood topped Lakeview 22-16 in a defensive contest in 7th grade action. Russ Winchester led the way with nine points. Jack Murrell and Neez Smith each added four points for Edgewood, now 9-1.

Jaxson Gould and Reilley Wood each had seven points to pace Lakeview. The Tigers are now 9-3.
