WARSAW — Eight members of Warsaw Medtronic Society of Women Engineers met for lunch on Dec. 7, with Kacey Anderson, early education specialist from the Beaman Home. Donated items were collected for teen girls at the shelter. Items collected included hair accessories, jewelry, scarves, hats, gloves, drawing pencils, makeup and gift cards.
The Beaman Home in Northern Indiana provides a continuum of services to support domestic violence and sexual assault victims through the initial crisis and along their journey to achieve abuse-free, self-sufficient lives. Programs and services are comprehensive and collaborative; including emergency shelter, outreach services, emergency and essential transportation, case management and ancillary services, support, referral, and advocacy for victims of family violence and Domestic Violence Intervention.
The shelter’s needs and services have grown from 47 clients last year to 170 this year. The shelter moved into a new 36 bed facility that also includes men’s area. They will provide presents for all clients this holiday season with help from local churches, companies and Toys for Tots.
Warsaw Medtronic Society of Women Engineers enjoyed assisting the Beaman Home in creating smiles this year.
