WARSAW — Business flowed as usual at the Dec. 7 meeting of the Kosciusko Alcohol Board despite the loss of two of its members. Kenneth Johnson announced his retirement at the October meeting, and board president Gordon Vanator passed away Nov. 9 after unexpectedly missing the Nov. 2 meeting. The board managed to fill one of the vacancies and welcomed Dan Woods for his first meeting.

The only new permit on the agenda, Orthocity Brewery and Smokehouse received its new wine license for its 975 Warren St., Warsaw, location. The business will be selling its own brewed beer, but the license allows them to retail wine and hard ciders from outside sources.

Brad Sutter and Brad Bibler, co-owners, were present to answer any questions from the board. Knowing that craft beers don’t suit everyone’s palates, the duo plans on purchasing a beer license to be able to sell outside beer once one becomes available, as there are none currently available in city limits.

“A lot of people aren’t refined to craft beer,” commented Sutter.
