LEESBURG — Emergency responders were called to a school bus, car accident on SR 15 near Clearwater Drive around 4:10 p.m. today, Dec. 7.

A Dodge Neon STX rear-ended Warsaw Community School’s bus 1-11 and ended up under the bus. One person had to extricated from the car and was airlifted from the scene via Lutheran Air. Students were still on the school bus when the accident occurred. No students were reported injured at the scene and waited inside Warsaw Tennis and Fitness Club until a second bus or parents arrived. Heavy rescue vehicles were called to the scene to assist with the accident. 

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department, Plainfield Township Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Lutheran Air.

While responding to the accident, one ambulance was t-boned at the SR 15 and Levi Lee Road intersection.

SR 15 was shut down to traffic while the accident was cleaned up.
