SILVER LAKE — Silver Lake residents enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus Tuesday, Dec. 5, when he stopped by the old fire station on Jefferson Street.
Those who were unable to make it to the fire station were still able to see Santa as he made his rounds through town in a fire truck, accompanied by Silver Lake Fire Chief John Conley. Santa saw residents of all ages waving from their windows and doors.
Children lined up at the fire station to sit on Santa’s lap and share their Christmas gift wishes. Hot chocolate and cookies were served, and each child received a goody bag.
“Santa Claus coming to town on a fire truck has been a tradition since I was little,” said Conley. “The memories of that stay with you, and we wanted children for many generations to have the same memories we did as children.”
Approximately 60 children attended the event.
