Ronnie Lee Anderson

Ronnie Lee Anderson, 77, passed away at 9:40 a.m.,Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. 

He was born April 2, 1940 in Athens to Wesley and Mable (Bowers) Anderson. He lived most of his life in Warsaw and was a 1958 graduate of Warsaw High School. There he was an accomplished pitcher on the WHS baseball team. Ronnie was considered by scouts of several MLB teams before injuring his shoulder.

On Oct. 12, 1963 he and Pauline Hurd were joined in marriage in Pierceton and would be blessed to share 54 years. 

Ronnie was a custodian at Jefferson Elementary School for 15 years. He had been a faithful member of God’s Highway to Heaven Church since 1998. He was an avid IU basketball fan and a New York Yankee fan. Ronnie had a great sense of humor and loved to tease everyone and would joke with complete strangers and family alike.  He was a family man who loved his dogs as family. He enjoyed going for drives and being outside. His favorite flower was the red rose.

Left with memories to treasure is his wife, Pauline; four children all of Warsaw: Rhonda (Bill) Goble, Steve (Cheryl) Anderson; Sandy (Jeff) Johnson; and Betty Jo (Ed) Cochran. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by three siblings:  Betty Nine, Charlotte Hart and an infant sister, Patsy.

Friends may gather with the family from 5-8 p.m.Thursday evening, Nov. 30 in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw and one hour prior to the service to be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. in God’s Highway to Heaven Church, 555 Webber Street, Warsaw. Rev. Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven Church and Pastor Glenn Hall of Harvest Community Church in Pierceton will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

The family has asked that gifts in Ronnie’s memory be given to the family to be used at their discretion.  Checks may be made payable to Titus Funeral Home or Pauline Anderson.
