According to WTHR, the national office of Sigma Nu suspended the IU chapter over hazing and alcohol violations in October. The Delta Tau Delta house at the school also had its charter suspended in January.

IU Temporarily Suspends All Fraternity Activities
BLOOMINGTON — A council at Indiana University has voted to temporarily suspend fraternity activities.
The decision was made by the school’s Interfraternity Council.
IU’s Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Lori Reesor, was the first person to confirm the suspension, saying the vote was unanimous.
“I commend these student leaders for their efforts and look forward to working with them to create a safer environment for all IU,” Reesor tweeted.
Just a few minutes later, the school’s student body president, Dan Niersbach, tweeted. He says he is proud of the council for making the decision and that the suspension will last at least until mid-spring.
“Now is the time to create real change in our Greek system and address the culture it creates. The IU Greek community will be safer and stronger,” says Niersbach on Twitter.
