WARSAW — Six people were treated for injuries and three of them ended up being transported to the hospital after a vehicle accident Friday, Nov. 24.
The accident occurred at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of US 30 and East Center Street, Warsaw. Judy Gill, 57, Burke Road, South Bend, had her GMC Acadia stopped at the intersection in the eastbound left turn lane. She believed she had a green turn arrow and began to turn left. While turning, her daughter started screaming that she saw headlights. Gill attempted to speed up to avoid the collision, but her vehicle was struck in the passenger side rear door.
Raymond Commers, 64, Pleasant Hills, La Porte, was driving his Chevy Traverse west on US 30. He believed he also had the green light and continued through the intersection. His vehicle collided with Gill’s vehicle. Debris from the collision struck the front of another vehicle driven by Bryn Malagon, 36, Boulder Drive, Warsaw.
Gill and her two passengers all complained of pain. The three of them were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Commers and his two passengers also complained of pain but all three of them were evaluated by EMS at the scene and released.
Both Commers’ and Gill’s vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. The damages were estimated at $25,000.
