Hazel Sawyer, 90, Elkhart, passed away on Nov. 11, 2017 at the Elkhart Hospice House.

She was born on Oct. 26, 1927 in Niles, Mich., to George and Hazel (Cowell) Coquillard.

On May 1, 1946 she married James Sawyer who preceded her in 1987. She worked for 36 years at Johnson Controls, then spent 17 years at Walmart before retiring. She was a member of the Grace Bible Church in New Paris.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Sharon (Gary) Price of Syracuse, one son, Lester Sawyer of Elkhart; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, one son, three sisters and two brothers. S

ervices will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.15 at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Calling will be 2 hours prior to the service from noon until 2. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.
