Cheryl M. Himes, 70, Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, in the Hospice House in South Bend with her loving family by her side.

Cheryl was born on May 10, 1947 in Bremen to Richard and Alyette (Dumarshe) Bowen. On July 18, 1964 Cheryl married the love of her life, John L. Himes; he preceded her in passing on July 14, 2016. Cheryl’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.

Left to cherish Cheryl’s memory are her four sons, Jim and Traci Klingerman of Walkerton; John Jr. and Diane Himes, of Shelbyville; Richard Himes of Plymouth; Michael Himes of Plymouth; also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; her sister, Stephanie and John Hoke of LaPorte; two brothers, Jeff and Julie Bowen of Plymouth; and Bruce and Wendy Bowen of Culver; and her extended Caldwell Lake camping family. Cheryl is preceded in passing by her parents, her beloved husband, John (Pops to most), three brothers, Phillip, Donnie and Denny Bowen, her son, Steven, and her grandson, Troy Klingerman.

The Van Gilder Funeral Home is arranging services.

A memorial service to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563 with service at 3:00 p.m. with James Duncan officiating.
