ELKHART —  Today (Wednesday) Elkhart’s first fully-inclusive public playground will open.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for noon at McNaughton Park.

It’s designed to help kids with different abilities take advantage of the outdoors.

Children can play on artificial turf, a handicapped-accessible swing set as well as a special glider. The elevation behind it has been raised so wheelchairs can use it.
