Randal W. Collar, 63, Columbia City, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at his home. Born Sept. 19, 1954 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Roger W. Collar and Beatrice (Trimmer) Carmichael.

He graduated from Northside High School in 1973. Randy worked for 30 years with Dana Weatherhead in both the Columbia City and Syracuse plants, retiring in 2007. On July 4, 2001, he married Darlene (Didion) Hill on the beach at Cape Cod, MA. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and going on vacations including spending time in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Collar; sons, Ryan Collar, of Syracuse and Jonathon Collar, of Seymour; daughter, Melissa Collar, of Oregon; step-son, Chad Hill, of Columbia City; step-daughter, Heather (Craig) Cook, of Columbia City; and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Collar.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Randy’s memory to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home.
