SYRACUSE — Syracuse Park Foundation met at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. There weren’t enough members present to form a quorum, so the meeting was spent primarily reviewing finances and trail projects. The next park foundation meeting will be on an undetermined date in December.
Still in the planning stages for a new trail, a survey has been completed and plans were submitted to the county to review. The trail would stretch between the Syracuse schools toward Brook Pointe Inn, along Syracuse-Webster Road. Dr. Tom Edington commented he thinks people are happy with the crosswalk at Pickwick Road and SR 13 as it has been used regularly by residents since completion.
The parks received a gift of a $100,000, where $40,000 will go to trails and $60,000 will go to the park fund. The benefactor, Max and Janet Laudeman, has designated where they would like the money to be used.
