Jose A. Salazar, 57, Plymouth, passed away on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, in his home with his loving family by his side.

Jose was born on Oct. 1, 1960 in Mexico to Jazinto Salazar and Maria Varas. Jose enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, he had a close relationship especially the little children. Jose worked for the TCP in the printing division.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Maria Varas of Plymouth; his son, Shawn Michael Salazar of Michigan City; three sisters, Imelda Salazar of Plymouth, Elia Salazar of Nebraska. Rosario and Michael Kobe of Portage, Indiana; his brother, Alfonso Salazar of Merrillville; Jose is preceded in passing by his father; daughter, MaLurdes Salazar; sons, Antonio Salazar and Jose Luis Salazar.

The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Salazar family. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 26 in the St. Michael Catholic Church, 611 N. Center Street Plymouth, IN 46563, with Fr. Craig Borchard officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

A time of visiting with the Salazar family will be from 2:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563.
