KOSCIUSKO — The Kosciusko County Commissioners have signed an official document proclaiming October Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Kosciusko County. The proposal was given by Beaman Home Executive Director, Tracie Hodson, at the Oct. 17 commissioners’ meeting, and the motion carried.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is also nationally recognized and is a time for remembrance and reflection. It is also a time for action. We know that it takes bold action to prevent domestic violence and support survivors. So this year the Beaman Home is asking you to participate, organize and prevent. Follow the Beaman Home on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Take action this month by volunteering at the Beaman Home, and work to help make your community a safe, stable and nurturing environment for families. Make a donation to help families who are suffering from the trauma of domestic violence and are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. Beaman Home has many ways to donate; mail a check to PO Box 12, Warsaw, Indiana 46580; donate items to the Basic Needs Center at 1023 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw; or donate with automatic withdraw from a checking account, or online at www.TheBeamanHome.com/donate.
Beaman Home is celebrating this month in many ways with a variety of small fundraisers, additional speaking engagements and the Beaman Home’s very popular bingo event, which sold out in advance this year.
