Irish Jump To No. 16 In AP Football Poll

Notre Dame SportsSOUTH BEND – Notre Dame jumped to No. 16 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 on Sunday.

The Irish improved to 5-1 with their fourth straight win Saturday, a 33-10 decision at North Carolina.

Notre Dame, which has played just two ranked teams so far including a loss to Georgia, will face five teams currently ranked in its final six games. The Irish are off next week before hosting USC Oct. 21 in a night game. The Trojans are No. 13 and sit at 5-1 after beating Oregon State on Saturday.

The Irish will also host No. 20 North Carolina State OCt. 28. Notre Dame then hosts Wake Forest Nov. 4 before playing at No. 11 Miami Nov. 11, hosting No. 25 Navy on Nov. 18 and at No. 23 Stanford on Nov. 25.

Alabama remains at No. 1 in the AP Poll. Clemson is second with Penn State third.
