Demaris ‘Dee’ Hochstetler

Demaris “Dee” Hochstetler, 78, Bremen, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Elkhart Hospice House after a brief illness.  She was born May 24, 1939 in Argos to Lloyd and Ruth (Bodey) Reed.

Dee was a 1957 graduate of Argos High School and graduated in 1962 from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing .  She lived most of her life in the Argos/Bremen area.  On December 13, 1962, she married Dale L. Hochstetler at the Baugo Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Hochstetler had worked as a Nurse at Elkhart and Bremen Hospitals and Bremen Family Medicine.

She attended Wakarusa Bible Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Snappy Nappy Red Hat Club in Nappanee.  Dee enjoyed family and reading, gardening and flowers.

Surviving are her husband, Dale; children, Steve (Brenda) Hochstetler, Bremen, Donald (Susan) Hochstetler, Nappanee, Joanna (Robert) Ladson, Bremen; 7 grandchildren; and sisters, Marjorie (Lorraine) Dunham, Argos and Zelma Montague, Wabash.

Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8, Sunday, Oct. 8, and for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service, Monday, October 9, all at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.  Rev. David Harper, Bible Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in South Union  Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bible Baptist Church or Elkhart Hospice House.
