MENTONE — One person was airlifted and another person was transported by ambulance following an accident on CR 775W in Mentone Sunday evening.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, emergency personnel were called to the scene of a rollover accident in Mentone.

The juvenile driver of the Dodge Durango lost control of the vehicle while southbound on CR 775W. The driver overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle rolled over and landed on all four tires, ending up in a cornfield.

The driver complained of head, back and neck pain, and was airlifted by Samaritan to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was transported by ambulance to Fort Wayne due to neck and elbow pain.

Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
