NorthWood Volleyball: Marian Tops Panthers
NAPPANEE – The NorthWood volleyball team dropped a 3-0 final to powerful Mishawaka Marian Monday night.
The Knights, who are ranked No. 5 in Class 3-A, won the non-conference contest 25-19, 25-9, 25-22 in the Panther Pit.
Kennedy Wiens led the way for NorthWood with 12 kills on the night. The senior star also had 11 digs for the Panthers.
Haylee Pennington powered down 10 kills and had two blocks. Whitney Gessinger had 14 digs and Maddy Payne a block for the Panthers. Courtney Lengacher had 27 assists.
NorthWood drops to 20-9 on the season. Marian improves to 25-6.
The Panthers close out regular season play at Wawasee Thursday night. NorthWood is 5-1 in conference play, sitting in second place behind NLC leader Concord, who is 6-0. Concord hosts Warsaw in NLC action Thursday night.
