Richard A. “Dick” Weaver, 81, Syracuse, passed away at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Goshen Hospital in Goshen. He was born on Dec. 3, 1935 in Mishawaka to Carlyle Robert “Bob” and Glada (Hartman) Weaver.
He attended high school in Jimtown, then moved to the Syracuse area in the early 1950’s and attended high school in Syracuse. He was marrie

d on Dec. 26, 1953 in Syracuse to Mary C. Stuckman, who survives. He was formerly employed at Liberty Homes as a truck driver, Syracuse Rubber Company, Star Craft, and Rinker Boat Company as a security guard all in Syracuse. He also worked for Fairmont Homes in Nappanee & Flex steel in New Paris. He served as a Reserve Police Officer for Syracuse Police Dept., managed the Standard Gas Station in Syracuse and was the owner operator of Dick’s Mowing Service.
He was a member of the Millersburg Church of Christ, Sons of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, and Moose Lodge in Elkhart. He enjoyed model trains, fishing, golfing, sitting on the porch watching people go by, and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Weaver, Syracuse; four daughters: Kathy (Joseph) Martin, Syracuse; Connie (Donald) Stoliker, Cromwell; Donna (Stuart) Jackson, Milford; Judy (Robert) Bachtel, Syracuse; son, Jack (Lina) Weaver, Goshen; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters: Lavera “Joan” Harris; Karen “Kay” Cory, both of Syracuse; brother: Larry (Carolyn) Weaver, Syracuse; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister – Gail Darlene Weaver.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw. A Celebration of Life Service will held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Millersburg Church of Christ, 11851 CR 44, Millersburgwith Preacher David Mains officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S.
