Tippecanoe Valley FFA Soils Team Headed To State

Members of the Tippecanoe Valley FFA soils team have won both the county and area contests. They are now headed to the state competition Oct. 14. AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley FFA soils team has been very busy this fall competing in different contests.

The week of Sept. 10, they won the county contest and the week of Sept. 17, they competed in the Area 10 contest held at Ransbottom Farms, just east of Claypool. Tippecanoe Valley FFA won first place as a team. Cora Alber placed second in individual, Raymie Shoop fourth in individual and Carissa Ziemek sixth in individual. Hannah Gibbons was the other participant to make up the team.

The team will advance to state contest to be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at Vincennes University.

Tippecanoe Valley also had three other teams competing that placed 10th, 12th and 14th out of 34 teams.

Teams are coached by FFA advisor Michael Jones.
