Landis Ray Weaver
Landis Ray Weaver, 54, Goshen, died at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, from a battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor, at his home. He was born June 4, 1963, in Elkhart to Ivan G. and Ina M. (Martin) Weaver.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Ina and Harvey Weaver, Goshen; siblings, Lynnette Kay (Carlton) Zimmerman, Brooten, Minn., Lauretta Sue (Elverne) Martin, Nappanee, Lyle (Carla) Martin Weaver, Goshen; stepsiblings, Marie (Justus) Brubaker, Wooster, Ohio, Karen (Eldon) Glick, New York, N.Y., Kenneth (Rachel) Weaver, Wooster, Ohio, Lamar (Sandra) Weaver, Salem, Ohio, and Faye (Melvin) Good, Wooster, Ohio; 15 nieces and nephews; and 20 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death are his father, Ivan Weaver on Dec. 26, 1981; a brother, Lealan “Lee” Jay Weaver on May 9, 1993; and a great-nephew, Trevor Hoover on July 1, 2015.
Landis was a farmer and attended Nappanee Missionary Church.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at Harrison Christian School, 64784 CR 11, Goshen, as well as one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service on Monday, Oct. 2, at the Yellow Creek Brick Mennonite Church, 64901 CR 11, Goshen. Pastors Wes Bontreger and Tim Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
