Lester G. Sellers, 79, Bourbon, passed away Sept. 22, 2017, at home as a result of a fatal farm accident.
Lester was born the son of Henry Ward and Dorothy Hall Sellers, Dec. 26, 1937, in Marshall County. He has been a life long resident of Bourbon. He married Gail Simmers on December 13, 1958; she proceeded in death May 27, 1999.
Lester was a farmer, worked for McDonalds in Plymouth as a maintenance person and at Gold Coast Cabinets. He was graduate of Bourbon High School in 1955 and furthered his education at Purdue University through the Farmer’s, Farming Short Course. Lester enjoyed: woodworking and helping kids with their 4-H projects, working with his hands, selling firewood, fishing, gardening, generally “working hard”, his cats and he loved to watch his grandchildren playing sports. He will be missed by all and was know as a “great man”. He was a member of the former Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren.
Lester is survived by his children: Judy (Mrs. Steve) Moosmann of Shelbyville, Charles and Michelle Sellers, Loren and Kim Sellers of Bourbon and Dr. Brent and Maryshannon Sellers of Bowling Green, Fla. Lester was also blessed with his loving grandchildren: Derek Sellers, Chad Sellers, Krystal Sellers, Aundrea Sellers, Austin Sellers and Hunter Sellers, and two sisters Marilyn Houin of Plymouth and Evelyn Clark of North Liberty. Also, Cris Dycus his long time companion who he shared his life with of Bourbon.
He was preceded death by his parents and his wife.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren 5975 19th Rd. Argos, IN 46501. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor Bob Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon, IN.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in him memory to Marshall Co. 4-H – Livestock, American Cancer Society or Riley Children’s Hospital
