Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

6:42 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Kyra S. Conley, 42, North CR 1000W, Etna Green, and Cynthia K. Wilkinson, 52, West CR 500N No. 12, Columbia City. Conley’s vehicle sideswiped the Wilkinson vehicle when backing from a parking space. Damage up to $2,500.

12:02 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, North CR 300E and EMS D24 Lane, Milford. Drivers: Jeffrey A. Painter, 55, Dr. Martin Luther Kings Drive A, Elkhart, and Christopher J. Guy, 47, East Raintree Road, Warsaw. Painter complained of pain to the chest and was taken to Goshen Hospital. Guy, who complained of pain to the chest, and a passenger, Trisha K. Harvey, East Raintree Road, Warsaw, who complained of pain to the knee/lower leg, were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Painter turned his vehicle, towing a boat trailer, into the path of the Guy vehicle. The boat trailer being towed by the Guy vehicle became detached and the boat on the trailer struck the back of the Guy vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.

3:58 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, EMS T9 Lane and East CR 500N, Leesburg. Drivers: Tyler L. Rex, 18, Beverly Hills Drive, No. 46, Middlebury, and Andrew A. Boyle, 17, North Deer Run, Warsaw. Rex failed to yield to the Boyle vehicle at the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.

8:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, North CR 500E, south of East CR 1100N, Syracuse. Drivers: Mark A. Mayhew, 49, CR 52, Syracuse, and Zendaiyah K. Hensley, 19, East CR 800N, Syracuse. Hensley complained of pain to the neck but refused EMS. Mayhew was backing from a private drive with his view obstructed by a bush. The hitch on his vehicle struck the Hensley vehicle as it was passing the drive.Damage up to $5,000.

10:16 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, East Armstrong Road, west of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Anthony W. Kelich, 35, North CR 900E, North Webster. Kelich drove his vehicle off the road to avoid hitting an oncoming vehicle in his lane of travel. Damage up to $10,000.

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

6:21 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, East CR 1200N, Syracuse. Driver: Tammy C. Tranter, 51, East Northshore Drive, Syracuse. Tranter’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle registered to John W. Yoder, CR 146, New Paris. Damage up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

6:01 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, North Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jose J. Mendoza. Mendoza, 55, South McKinley Street, Warsaw, was backing his vehicle and struck the front of a parked vehicle registered to Matthew D. Arnett, South Drive, Warsaw. Damage up to $2,500.

7:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, SR 15 and East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Puneeth R. Ambati, 27, Chamberlin Drive, Warsaw, and Melissa E. Hamilton, 32, South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Ambati’s vehicle struck the back of the Hamilton vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

3:22 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, North Parker Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kimberly Wellbaum, 59, Mockingbird Lane, Warsaw, and Jennifer A. Howard, 43, East CR 900N, North Manchester. Wellbaum complained of pain to her entire body and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Wellbaum believed the Howard vehicle was going to turn, so she proceeded onto North Parker Street into the path of the Howard vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

2:44 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Robert W. Hersha, West SR 10, Bourbon, came out of the store to find the front of his vehicle resting against the front of a vehicle registered to Michael H. Shoemaker West CR 200N, Wabash. It’s believed Hersha’s vehicle left in drive when he exited the vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

1:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, North SR 15 and East Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amanda C. Fox, 29, North Parker Street, Warsaw, and Earl J. McKenzie, 72, Fisher Avenue, Warsaw. Fox’s vehicle went through the intersection on a red light and struck the McKenzie vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

12:21 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, Detroit Street, north of Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nolan Z. Kalka, 17, Rowantree Place, South Bend, and Jose A. Villa, 26, North Old SR 15 Lot 5, Warsaw. Kalka’s vehicle struck the back of the Villa vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

7:18 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, East Winona Avenue and Wood Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Ashley M. Tharp, 27, East CR 200N, No. 32, Warsaw, and Ivy George, 26, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. Tharp thought George’s vehicle was going to turn at the intersection so she proceeded to drive onto East Winona Avenue, colliding with George’s vehicle that proceeded through the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.

Elkhart

Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:

9:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, SR 13, south of CR 50, Millersburg. Driver: Jesse Streikus, 36, Cromwell. Streikus suffered pain to the left arm and chest. He was taken to Goshen Hospital. Streikus swerved his vehicle to miss a deer, going off the west side of the road and hitting a tree.
