
Sarah Jane Lewis, 86, Syracuse, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw. She was born on Sept. 14, 1931 in Wells Co. to Wilford G. and Artha (Kleinknight) Nash.
She graduated in 1949 from Lancaster High School in Lancaster and on Dec. 23, 1948 in in Covington, Ky. she married Forrest V. Lewis who survives. She retired as owner and operator of Lewis Standard Oil Filling Station in Ossian after 35 years and from Custom Services Fundraising in Syracuse after 20 years. She moved to Syracuse in 1984 from Ossian.
She was a member of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse.
She is survived by her husband, Forrest Lewis, Syracuse; son: Forrest Randall (Carol) Lewis, Ossian; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; her brother: Robert (Linda) Nash, Cleveland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Amy Jo Yeager, and brother, William Nash.
Private family services will be held at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with Pastor Harlan Steffen officiating. Cremation will follow at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw. Private family scattering will take place at a later date.
