Triton Sports Wrap: Sept. 12
Tennis
Al Peckham got his 100th boys tennis head coaching win as Triton earned a Hoosier North Athletic Conference victory over LaVille Tuesday night, 5-0.
The Trojans gave up just five total games on four courts as the Lancers forfeited at two doubles.
Carter Kuntz won a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Doug Cashen at one singles, and Trevor Miller put away David Clayton, 6-1, 6-0 at three singles. John Gardner topped Zach Rutherford, 6-1, 6-1 at two singles, and Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler combined for a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Dan Clingaman and James Michaels at one doubles.
The Trojans improve to 8-6 on the year and 4-1 in the HNAC. They host North Judson-San Pierre in another HNAC contest Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
Volleyball
Triton volleyball suffered a four-game loss to Elkhart Christian Tuesday, 25-17, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18.
Nicole Sechrist tallied an impressive 22 kills, while Hannah Wanemacher set 29 assists. Emma Ross recorded 15 digs, and Tatum Hargrave served three aces for the Lady Trojans in the win.
Triton’s JV won, 25-24, 25-21, meanwhile.
The Trojans play at Bethany Christian Thursday at 7 p.m.
