NORTH WEBSTER — It’s bad karma at the hippy commune and patrons are invited to solve the crime at the Murder Mystery Dinner hosted by North Webster Community Public Library, 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. The setting takes place at a 1960s hippy commune. It’s all peace and love until the manager of a rock band is found murdered. For $15 a ticket, players try to figure out who brought on the bad vibes with this dastardly deed.

Tickets are currently on sale and include dinner, character assignment and clues. Players are asked to wear hippy attire and remain in character throughout the evening. So break out your bell bottoms, peace beads and tie-dyed shirts for a fun evening of mystery and suspense. Tickets are available from Adults Services Director Beth Smith. Adult players only.

It’s more fun and games when Adult Game Night starts up again 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. Join together with others to play Balderdash, a hilarious board game of bluffing and trivia. Each month a different party game is played. Adults of all ages are invited to join in for some friendly competition and loads of laughs.

There are always lots of giggles during Preschool Story Time. Registration begins Sept. 6 for the fall session that runs every Wednesday Sept. 20 through Nov. 8. Two time periods are offered at 10:30 or 11:30 a.m. Parents can sign up their preschoolers, ages three to six, at the Youth Services Desk or call (574) 834-7122 ext. 202.

Have you purchased all your child’s school supplies?  Don’t forget the most important school supply of all is a library card. It’s the first step toward lifelong learning. If your child is age six or older and lives in Tippecanoe Township, they can get their own library card free of charge. A parent’s signature and proof of address is required. Stop by the Youth Services Desk to get an application and start your child on the road to academic achievement.
